Pastor Kerr and Mother Estelle Taylor

Mother Estelle Taylor, one of the founders of First Congregation of Yahweh, is now recovering from heart surgery.

She had been feeling ill for the past few weeks. She was able to attend the seventh day Sabbath service in the Feast of Unleavened Bread in Kingston but she was not her usual self.

A visit to the doctor revealed that her heart rate was very low. The 93-year old who is normally as strong as a 55-year old, was admitted to the St. Ann’s Bay hospital. She was transferred to the University hospital to have a pacemaker inserted to regularise her heart beat.

She started making a quick recovery after the surgery and is now at home getting back to her full strength.

On October 22 last year, Mother Taylor was the front seat passenger involved in a serious accident in Clark’s Town, on returning from a Sabbath meeting in Kingston.

Mother Estelle does not feel Yahweh is not done with her yet. She says she asked him to take her to 100 and she believes he will take her there.

The family of First Congregation of Yahweh International would like to thank all those who offered prayers and well wishes during her time of ilness.

Here we share a video of the last time she delivered the message in First Congregation of Yahweh International, Clark’s Town: “Walking In The New Covenant.”

King Solomon and Queen of Sheba
Sampson and Delilah

Youth link has been revived in the Clark’s Town branch. Under the leadership of Sister Ffrenchie Taylor, youth meetings have taken on added significance.

Previously, the youths met with Sister Ffrenchie only when there was a project, such as preparation for Youth Sabbath. For the past three weeks however, Sabbath afternoons, starting at 4 o’clock, has seen regular Youth Link. It is marked by activities that engage the youth in a relaxed atmosphere, yet with powerful spiritual lessons. These activities include songs, skits, discussions, debates and other presentations.

The activities are not confined to the young as adults also take part in the weekly activities.

According to Sister Ffrenchie, this keeps the young people of the congregation spiritually occupied throughout the Sabbath day as the proceedings end around sunset.

Below are some photos from this weeks proceedings. The first presentation was the story of Solomon and the Queen of Sheba. The second presentation was the story of Sampson and Delilah.

Four members of the First Congregation of Yahweh International (COY) were injured in a car accident in Hyde, Clark’s Town last night. They were returning from a Sabbath meeting of all the groups in the congregation, which was held in Kingston.

They are Overseer Pastor Lynval Henry, his wife Rebecca, Mother Estelle and her daughter, sister Carmen Johnson.

Pasto Henry was on his way to drop home Mother Taylor and Sister Carmen, who live in Hyde, when he slammed into a concrete pole.

Pastor, his wife, and the 92-year old Estelle Taylor were treated and sent home. X-rays showed no broken bones. However, sister Carmen’s X-rays has a fractured hip.

The incident occurred near the home of Mother Estelle’s son, who was on hand to quickly take them to the hospital.

Please extend your prayers to those affected as well as their families.
